Our response to COVID-19
The circumstances of the COVID-1 outbreak have evolved quickly, and we believe now is the time for us to do even more to protect you, our team, Habitat partner families, and the community we care deeply for.
- VOLUNTEERS: Effective March 21st, all volunteer shifts are cancelled. We know how important our work is to the families we serve, and we hope to limit disruptions to our production schedule by allowing staff to continue to build while practicing social distancing.
- HOMEOWNER SELECTION: we are cancelling our in-person Home Buyer information sessions. Interested homebuyer applicants can download an application HERE. Completed applications will be accepted via mail, fax, email, or in-person using our our office drop box between March 26th and May 29th. Click HERE for up-to-date information and instructions about our 2020 selection process.
- MAIN OFFICE: Our main office is closed to the public beginning March 18th. Staff are working from home when possible or practicing social distancing when in the office.
People in your community and around the world partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Qualifying families purchase Habitat homes after contributing 500 hours of "sweat equity" and taking 12 months of homeowner education classes. By providing a hand UP, not a hand-out, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and their families.
Willamette West is one of 32 Oregon Habitat offices and 1,300 offices nationwide, each independently operated. Habitat for Humanity serves 70 nations around the globe.
Our local focus is on the Portland Metro Westside including the cities of Aloha, Beaverton, Hillsboro, King City, Lake Oswego, Tigard, Tualatin, West Linn, and Wilsonville.
